Large Blown And Enameled Glass Apothecary Bottle, 18th Century
A large blown and enameled glass apothecary bottle dating from the 18th century. Square in section, the bottle features a constricted neck. The front is decorated with a vertical white cartouche bearing the inscription “ESS ANTIHYST COL” in black lettering. This cartouche is framed by two blue leafy branches accented with three floral motifs and is surmounted by a crown. The latter resembles the German “Bürgerkrone” (civic crown).
