Saint Louis - Crystal Candy Dish, Engraved And Gilded With Fine Gold - Nelly Model In The Empire Style
Candy dish or lidded sugar bowl in St. Louis crystal, Nelly Empire model with gold accents.
Nelly is a beautiful "frosted" design, gilded with fine gold in Empire-style motifs—palmettes and lambrequins.
This piece dates from the 1900s and does not bear the Saint Louis signature, as the crystal manufacturer did not begin applying its acid-etched stamp until 1936. The profile is characteristic of Saint Louis bottles, and the gilded palmette design appears several times in the 1908 catalog.
Our box is in excellent condition. The gilding is fresh, with no wear. Over 100 years old and practically in mint condition
