A painting from the 1920s depicting a view of Le Faouët in Morbihan, Brittany—specifically the Ursuline Chapel and the Hôtel du Lion d’Or, which are located near the magnificent market halls of Le Faouët. 
The Faouët Museum, located in the Ursuline convent itself, houses works by Germain David-Nillet *.
Our oil on canvas is in beautiful original condition; a second painting by Germain David-Nillet, which is signed, is currently for sale in my gallery.
The original frame has some missing pieces.

*Germain David-Nillet, born in Paris on December 4, 1861, and died in the same city on October 11, 1932.
His family was originally from Septmoncel in the Jura region.
A student and secretary of Léon Lhermitte (1844–1925), he won a silver medal in the drawing category at the 1888 International Black-and-White Exhibition.
He exhibited in Paris at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts, receiving an honorable mention in 1889.
He became a member of the society in 1895, won a silver medal at the 1900 World’s Fair, and was named a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
He also won a gold medal in Munich in 1892, an honorable mention in Madrid in 1893, and gold medals in Rouen in 1897 and in Amsterdam in 1899.
He met the painter Maurice Denis in 1898 during his stay in Saint-Brieuc, Brittany.
The Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts dedicated a retrospective exhibition to him in 1934.
A typical genre painter, his works *Le Bénédicité*, *La Soupe*, and *Chez grand'mère* are housed in museums in France.
