Wrought-iron Chandelier With Fruit Motifs By Bagues
Wrought-iron cage chandelier in the style of the Baguès house. Mid-20th century. It features eight light sources: four arms and four lights in the central basket. It is embellished with repoussé sheet metal acanthus leaves on the cage structure, the arms, the base, and the candle holders. The column and the central basket are decorated with garlands of twisted pearls and clusters of grapes with foliage. The entire piece is adorned with medallions, rosettes, apples, pears, bunches of grapes, foliage, and a small bell at the base. The candle holders are made of opaline glass. This chandelier was originally silver-plated and shows signs of wear. It has been fully restored and cleaned, and the electrical wiring has been redone.
