Art Deco Vase, Signed René Lalique, Blue Patina, Sage Leaves, 1924,
An antique satin-finished pressed-molded glass vase by René Lalique, featuring the famous “Sauges” design, one of the iconic models from the Lalique house’s Art Deco collection.
Created in 1924, the “Sauges” design perfectly illustrates the transition from the naturalistic inspiration of Art Nouveau to the refined aesthetic of Art Deco
. The design consists of a dense tangle of sage leaves, alternating between satin-finished and translucent sections, creating a remarkable play of light characteristic of René Lalique’s craftsmanship.
The craftsmanship is of the highest quality, with an original patina that highlights the depth of the botanical design. The pear-shaped silhouette, with its understated and elegant lines, perfectly accentuates the richness of the naturalistic composition.
