Sideboard / antique bedside table in the Transition style, dating from the late 19th century
Combining the elegant curves of the Louis XV style with the geometric lines of the Louis XVI style.
Geometric “trompe-l’œil” cube marquetry (marquetry featuring cubes with open backs) visible on the top surface, the drawer fronts, and the side panels.
Trompe-l’œil front: The piece visually features a front with three drawers fitted with handles and lock plates in chiseled bronze. In reality, it opens to a separate top drawer lined with a floral-patterned fabric, while the two “false drawers” at the bottom form a side-hinged door.
Good overall condition (minor historical repairs).
