Oil on wood panel depicting a lively scene in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, by Louis Petit, a French painter born in 1864 in Arnancourt (Haute-Marne) and who died in 1937 in Paris.
Signed lower left.
Gilt wood frame, showing signs of wear to the gilding on the right side.
Painting dimensions : 36 x 28 cm.
Frame dimensions : 51 x 44 cm.
Louis Petit drew inspiration from Cézanne, Sisley, Rozmainsky, and Palissy, who were his friends.
He received an honorable mention at the 1900 World's Fair, a silver medal in 1914, and a gold medal (*hors concours*) at the Salon des Artistes Français.
