Bust depicting the face of Christ, attributable to Italian sculptural production between the 15th and 16th centuries. The face, with strongly marked features, is framed by abundant wavy locks of hair falling over the shoulders, while the beard is rendered with naturalistic attention. The drapery is resolved in radial folds converging toward the neck, a formal solution common in late medieval and Renaissance devotional sculpture. The surface retains traces of original polychromy.
