19th-century Indochinese Cabinet
An antique Indochinese cabinet made of exotic wood, entirely hand-carved and inlaid with mother-of-pearl on three sides. The wood has a beautiful patina. It opens with two openwork doors, adorned with medallions on the front. It also features two drawers, two shelves, and a central niche that can hold books or other objects.
It is topped by a pediment with three panels of mother-of-pearl inlay.
The mother-of-pearl inlays depict scenes of rural life, pagodas, and villages with traditional houses set among vegetation, flowers, trees, and birds.
