True guardian deities in Chinese tradition, the Fô dogs, or Buddhist lions, have for centuries been symbols of power, prosperity, and the protection of homes. This large pair immediately captivates with its spectacular appearance and the quality of its decoration.

The animals are depicted in a vigilant pose, their mouths wide open to reveal their fangs, and their eyes in relief expressing their full vigor. Their bodies are animated by powerful, stylized scrollwork and adorned with flowers and plant motifs in high relief.
