Seated sage figurine in natural and glazed terracotta, signed R. Chapaud Hidaka for Raymaonde Chapaud Hidaka Letulle (1912–2004). This French artist, who developed her work within the abstract movement of her time, remained faithful to classical and realist traditions. She gained renown for her ability to capture the psychological depth of her subjects.
