An important and magnificent Louis XV chest of drawers made in Paris around the mid-18th century and bearing the stamp and signature of master cabinetmaker Jean-Baptiste Tuart.
This piece, of extraordinary craftsmanship, is veneered in precious rosewood and amaranth, featuring elegant reserve motifs and herringbone-patterned grain. The richly detailed, finely chiseled gilded bronze applications—gilded with mercury—adorn the uprights, handles, and molded profiles, lending the piece an elegance characteristic of the great Parisian cabinetmaking tradition of the 18th century.
The original breccia marble top, with its warm tones, completes the sumptuous harmony of the piece.
