At the top of the engraving, in Latin: "O mors, bonum est iudicium tuum homini indigenti..." At the bottom of the engraving, in Latin: “Pauperibus mors grata venit, redimita corona
Florifera, et luctus ultima risus habet.”
Translation: "O Death, how good is your judgment for the man in misery. For the poor, death comes as a welcome deliverance, crowned with a wreath of flowers, and the final smile puts an end to sorrow. ”
