Roman Terracotta Flask.
Red clay bottle, African sigillata. Slightly tapered body; the entire piece rests on a figurative saucer, which sits on a small circular foot. A small 2-cm nipple on one side. A strainer with 19 holes closes the top; it appears there was a rough outline of a handle that the potter ultimately did not attach. The vessel measures 10 cm in diameter and 6.5 cm in height. Mid-3rd century.
