Large Louis XV-style Trumeau In Gilded And Lacquered Wood, 19th Century
It features two mirrors placed one above the other, set within a gilded wood frame.
Intended to adorn the reception rooms of grand residences in the 19th century, placed atop a mantelpiece or console table, this large trumeau helped diffuse light and make the space appear larger, while serving as a major element of the interior decor.
It will easily find its place in a classic or contemporary interior.
Trumeau mounted on an oak core; some signs of wear; chips in the gilding and wood; 2 holes in the side posts (which were used for the lamp arms); wears to the silvering ofthe mirror and some previous restorations. The upper mirror has been changed
