Steel, brass, and wood.
Overall length: 112 – Barrel length: 60 cm (24”) – Cal. 44RF
Round barrel, rifled; with front sight and adjustable rear sight; marked on the top: WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED 20 MARCH 1866 OCTOBER 16 1860.
Brass breechblock, engraved with scrolls on both sides, bearing the emblem of Mexico and the saddle ring on the left side; breech tail numbered 36130 within an engraved banner. Dust cap missing.
Iron fittings; brass butt plate with a hinged cover, engraved to match.
Varnished walnut stock.
Good overall condition. Beautiful patina on the wood.
Formerly in the Stanley R. Andrus collection.
