Biography:
Founded in Paris in 1837, Hermès initially specialized in luxury saddlery and leather goods before expanding, starting in the early 20th century, into the production of decorative objects and tableware made of porcelain and ceramics.
For its earthenware creations, Hermès collaborated notably with Ravinet Denfert, the renowned French manufacturer in Limoges, producing high-quality tableware sets, vases, and decorative objects featuring graphic or floral motifs, often signed by Hermès.
From the 1950s to the 1980s, Hermès solidified its identity in the worlds of luxury and interior design, combining artisanal craftsmanship with modernity and contributing to the rise of contemporary French decorative arts.
