An elegant, entirely hand-knotted Oriental rug from the Ardabil region of Iran (Ardabil is an ancient spelling, now ARDABIL), as evidenced by its two original labels still present on the reverse. This rug is distinguished by its remarkable Caucasian-inspired design, composed of six large geometric medallions on an ivory background, enriched with a multitude of stylized animal motifs (birds, horses, deer, camels, etc.), which are particularly decorative and unusual. Made of high-quality wool and silk, with a very short pile that highlights the fineness of the design. Fresh and harmonious colors.
