Transition Dresser
A sublime two-drawer chest of drawers without a crossbar, in the Transition style, crafted in the 19th century by a Parisian workshop with meticulous attention to quality—from the marquetry of rosewood and palisander veneer cubes to the finely chiseled and gilded bronze fittings, including the amaranth frames, molding, and rosettes made of lemonwood... The rear legs are also adorned with gilded bronze finials shaped like clogs, gracefully following the piece’s contours. The top is made of red Belgian marble. The lock mechanism located on the bottom drawer also locks the top drawer at the same time.
