Pair Of Napoleon III-era Candlesticks
An elegant pair of candlesticks in blackened metal and gilded bronze, resting on a tripod base with rocaille and foliage motifs.
The central column shape, the refined moldings, and the contrast between the black and the gilded accents evoke French productions from the second half of the 19th century, in the Napoleon III style.
The decoration draws inspiration from a reinterpreted Louis XV style, which was highly popular during the Second Empire.
The bronze candle holders still bear traces of their original gilding.
