Jean Baptiste Galet, a Parisian cabinetmaker who became a master craftsman in 1754 and died in 1784, left behind a meticulously crafted body of Louis XV furniture, Transition, and Louis XVI styles. As a cabinetmaker, he quickly gained great renown and was mentioned, toward the end of Louis XV’s reign, as one of the leading cabinetmakers in Paris.
