This magnificent Louis XV-style candelabra is directly inspired by the designs of Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695–1750).Meissonnier was one of the greatest masters and theorists of the Rocaille style.
This particular model, characterized by its asymmetrical, whip-like branches, its rocaille motifs, swirling acanthus foliage, and twisted shaft, echoes the famous design of the pair of candelabra he created in 1734 for the Duke of Kingston.
