On the back of this work, it is written: "Vision of Saint Margaret Mary." Montauban Cathedral. On the right, Head of Christ. The label of the framer "Florentin Antony," located in Montauban, is also visible. It is quite possible that this sketch is a preparatory study for the altarpiece of Montauban Cathedral, which would confirm the attribution to Armand Cambon, a student of Ingres.
