Elegant Empire-style chest of drawers in flamed mahogany, featuring four front drawers, including a hidden belt drawer beneath the top.
It rests on sturdy freestanding columns topped with swan-neck finials at the front—a hallmark of the style—and is crowned with a superb top of veined black marble.
The front features remarkable flamed grain with warm highlights, accentuated by rich gilded bronze hardware: lock plates, drawer pulls, decorative sconces, and belt ornaments.
The clean, architectural lines, combined with the quality of the materials, perfectly illustrate the elegance of French furniture from the first third of the 19th century.
The drawers offer ample storage space and slide smoothly.
Beautiful antique patina and meticulous finish.
