Small Antique Gallé Vase Art Nouveau , Nancy School

An antique, small multilayered glass vase signed Gallé, featuring a naturalistic floral design etched with acid on a satin-finish background in shades of amber and plum brown.
The body is adorned with a stylized flower accompanied by buds and foliage, in the spirit of early 20th-century works from the École de Nancy.

This piece has several firing cracks.
These defects occurred during the cooling of the glass at the factory and would normally have rendered the object unsuitable for sale.
This type of vase was generally not sold by the Gallé company and was intended to be destroyed or discarded.
