Vintage Design
Guy Lefevre was a French designer active from the 1960s to the 1980s; he is closely associated with Maison Jansen, for which he designed tables, consoles, sideboards, and desks featuring a highly recognizable geometric style. His design language blends polished brass and chrome, orthogonal structures, and tops made of glass, travertine, or lacquer, sometimes with touches of parchment or refined Asian influences. The proportions are precise, the joints clean, with particular attention paid to profiles and edges. He also designed nesting tables and modular sets that have become classics of the “Jansen 70” style.
