Léon Louis Oury, born on December 6, 1846, in Chartres, where he died on June 6, 1929, was a French painter.
Léon Louis Oury was the son of Hyppolite Oury (1811–1893), chief secretary at the Chartres City Hall, and Marie Elisabeth Rosalie Eustache (1822–1895). His maternal grandfather was the painter Honoré Jean Dubois-Duperray; his niece, Thérèse Marie Oury-Picavet (1880–1972), would also become a painter. In 1878, he married Joséphine Sophie Edian; Ladislas Ciesielski served as a witness at the wedding.A student of Isidore Pils and Gabriel Ferrier, he exhibited at the Salon beginning in 1880
He died at the age of 82 in Chartres.
