Empire-style Mirror In Gilded Wood - 19th Century
Empire-style mirror from the late 19th century
The wooden frame reflects the aesthetic codes of Neoclassical antiquity. The side panels are highlighted by fine moldings, while the pediment features delicate gilded wood moldings (palmette and foliage motifs with an eagle)
Original glass
The gilding has a patina of age with slight signs of wear. There are a few missing pieces, notably the top left corner (see photo)
