Bronze Mortar Early 17th Century

Very nice little bronze mortar from the early 17th century.century. Probably Velay region.
Bowlflared at the top, shoulder rim decorated with a beaded frieze on the outside.on the outside.
The body isdecorated with five winged buttresseswith alternating religious subjects and female profiles.distinguish :The Holy FaceFace, Saint Christophe, Saint Jérôme near the lion, female profile facingAnne de Bretagne" bust.
This mortaris to be compared with the Master of 1603, by consulting the formidable and comprehensivebook by Bertrand Bergbauer,Mortiers français du XVe au XVIIIe siècle, which I recommend.
Severalsubjects of this mortar are listed in this book, photos attached.
Traces anddeformations of use quite logical and acceptable.
