The lightly masked prints in the background depict classical subgenres, including beautiful women (bijin-ga) and figures in picturesque landscapes
The small horizontal frame in the center front contains an Ainu ethnographic scene by artist Kobayashi Eitaku. Entitled "Aïnous eating and drinking", it depicts Aïnous sharing a meal and holding dried fish
