Pair Of Louis XV Double Doors, Stucco Decoration On Both Sides
Remarkable pair of painted wood double doors in the Louis XV style, decorated with applied stucco on both sides. The presence of stucco on both sides is characteristic of the grand Parisian residences of the 18th century, where the doors had to be meticulous on both the hall and anteroom sides.
Main face:
Top panel with stucco Rocaille décor - foliage, scrolls, shells and flowering branches.
Lower panel with crossette stucco molding
Original chased gilt bronze fittings: rocaille cartouche locks, gooseneck handles
Verso side:
Equivalent stucco decoration of the same workmanship
Perfect stylistic continuity on both sides
Condition: good overall condition, some slight surface cracks in the stucco inherent to age, original white patina.
