Bouquet Brooch In 18k Yellow Gold, Rutilated Rock Crystal And Coloured Stones
Bouquet brooch in 18k yellow gold, rutilated rock crystal and colored gemstones
Important bouquet brooch in 18k yellow gold, featuring a V-shaped element of rock crystal crossed with golden rutile needles, on which is applied a bouquet of colored gemstones - emeralds, sapphires, aquamarines, citrines, amethysts and tourmalines - cut in pear, oval, cabochon or fancy shapes, set close. The set is punctuated by small diamonds set in white gold.
The piece can also be worn as a pendant.
Monogrammed V.T., with corresponding master hallmark. French work, probably 1970-1980.
Features
Dimensions: 8 × 6.5 cm approx.
Gross weight: 69.1 g
Metal: 18k yellow gold - 750/1000
Hints: eagle head; V master mark, polylobed cross, T, in a horizontal rhombus
Possible to wear as a pendant
Condition
Very good overall condition for a piece of this scale.
The colored stones, set close together - which effectively protects them around their edges - are in good condition overall, with no major accidents. The emeralds have a few slight chips on their edges, inevitable with natural stones of this size and in keeping with their nature: they do not alter the color or legibility of the composition. The diamonds are flawless and untouched. There are slight traces of glue at the junction between the bouquet and the rock crystal, barely noticeable in normal wearing conditions.
Worn, the brooch reveals its full interest: the golden rutile needles, discreet flat, come alive in the light and take on their full presence on the lapel of a garment. The color palette - from the green of emeralds to the violet of amethysts, from the blue of sapphires and aquamarines to the yellow of citrines - is dense without being dissonant. A piece that stands on its own.
