Sleeping Perfume Bottle By Elsa Schiaparelli Crystal Candlestick 20th Century
Flacon "Sleeping" perfume bottle by Elsa Schiaparelli in gilded crystal (almost certainly Baccarat) representing a candlestick, the stopper in the shape of a flame. 1938 XXth century.
This bottle is in good condition, superb quality. There is still a perfume base inside.
Presented as a night perfume, it was to be sprayed at bedtime, and the scent wasat bedtime, and the fragrance was supposed to illuminate the subconscious and "ignite the path to ecstasy", according to an ad illustrated by Marcel Vertès. (cf Metropolitan Museum website)
