Pair Of Armchairs - Maison Jansen
Pair of curule-style armchairs attributed to the prestigious Maison Jansen, dating from the 1970s.
True icons of Haute Décoration in the second half of the 20th century, these chairs perfectly blend the rigor of neoclassical furniture with the glamour of the Hollywood Regency style.
The superbly chromed flat steel frame draws an X-shaped (curule form) base of great purity, linked by a central ring brace. The uprights rise aerially to form curved armrests, which end in decorative chrome-plated metal gadrooned rings and knobs.
The suspended seat and banded backrest are in thick original black leather. A remarkable technical and aesthetic detail: the leather backrest is adjusted and secured on each side by a set of straps with chrome-plated metal loops, characteristic of the quality finish of Maison Jansen.
