In Egyptian red porphyry, chased and gilt bronze ornamentation, the lid topped by a foliate seed-shaped grip, the neck encircled by a frieze of openwork interlacing and canals, the geometric handles each ending in a lion's head flanked by bells, the pedestal decorated with acanthus leaves and a garland of oak leaves, the square-section base surrounded by a string of pearls.
