Bressane Cabinet In Walnut And Walnut Burl Veneer, 18th/19th Century
Bressane walnut and walnut burl veneer armoire, French work from the XVIIIᵉ century or early XIXᵉ century.
This elegant armoire opens with two large, richly molded leaves adorned with particularly decorative flamed-veined walnut burl panels. The carved movement decorations on the front and the openwork lock escutcheons add character to the whole.
The central crosspiece and the lower belt feature beautiful carved motifs inspired by plants, while the heavily molded cornice underlines the elegance of this quality regional production.
The interior, entirely in solid wood, offers ample storage space. A large drawer at the bottom completes the ensemble. The antique joints and panel work testify to traditional craftsmanship.
Very fine antique patina and superb decorative presence for this authentic, warm cabinet.
