Biedermeier Mahogany Sofa, North Germany, Circa 1830
Biedermeier sofa with a shaped apron and rolled legs. The armrests are decorated with stylized cornucopias, while delicate string inlays frame the surfaces. The rounded backrest is flanked by side sections incorporating bolster cushions. The sofa has been fully restored, newly upholstered in green satin fabric with purple bolster cushions, and hand-polished.
