Carved Walnut Renaissance Buffet /cabinet, French Work, Late 19th Century

Buffet / Renaissance-style cabinet in carved walnut, French work from the late XIXᵉ century.

This piece of furniture features elegant, richly ornamented architecture typical of the Neo-Renaissance taste.

The upper part opens with a finely molded leaf, decorated at its center with a figure carved in high relief in a diamond-shaped frame. The jambs, panels and crosspieces are embellished with delicately carved vegetal decorations, rosettes and geometric motifs.

The belt reveals a drawer in the front, resting on four turned legs joined by a brace shelf. The lower panel features a diamond-shaped carved decoration, ensuring a beautiful overall harmony.

Beautiful overhanging cornice and balanced proportions give a lot of character to this decorative piece of furniture.
