Important, curved, tortoise-shell veneered jewelry box from the Third Republic period, circa 1880.
It features a rich Rocaille-style ormolu and chased bronze trim, wide acanthus-leaf cabriole legs, apron centered with a stylized shell, cartouche keyways and high-relief flower garland falls. This model is distinguished by its quality craftsmanship, perfect state of preservation and original integrity: the interior retains its period red silk velvet, the exterior back is lined with its original cloth,original key.
A beautiful jewelry box lined with a fine collector's item, sound and unrestored.
