An individual container designed for drinking liquids, usually hot, the cup has a vertical side handle. It is cylindrical in shape, with a flat base resting on a slight heel. Its matching saucer, also with a flat base, rests on a discreet heel and has a slightly sloping rim.
The term "litron" cup was coined by the Vincennes factory around 1752. This model was inspired by the choppe, a popular vessel at the time, in response to the rise of hot beverages such as tea, coffee and chocolate in Europe.

The cup and its matching saucer feature a wide band with a white background adorned with a polychrome decoration composed of a garland of interlacing flowery and leafy stems, punctuated with flowers. These sinuous garlands are embellished with orange-red scrolls and stylized flowers. The lower part of the cup and the basin of the saucer feature a rich light-brown background.
