Antique Japanese Okimono Court Lady With Falcon And Child Signed Gyokuhō Meiji 19th Century

Beautiful antique Japanese okimono in finely carved ivory depicting an elegant court lady (bijin) holding a falcon perched on her arm, accompanied by a smiling young child carrying flowers. The lady carries a hanging basket and is dressed in rich robes adorned with finely engraved geometric and floral motifs, enhanced by a warm patina.

The composition is charming and harmonious, with fine work on the faces, bird, hairstyle, clothes and basket. The underside bears a red cartouche in red lacquer signed 玉芳 (Gyokuhō), artist's name.
