Powerful Winemaker's Tap, Rhône Valley, Bronze, Whimsical Head: 4kg
Object of character and collectability for wine art lover.
Very large 4kg tap from cast bronze with two well-fitting elements, known as a cinnamon thunderbolt. Body, with its whimsical head, and key, with its ergonomic handle with a final nut that still works well.
We pushed the whole thing in with a mallet into wood of thunderbolt or shaft, hence the curved bumper to the animal's nose.
It has been used and shows scars from use, but, indestructible, it still works and has a beautiful patina.
28cm x 20cm x 13.5cm,4kg, Final tube diameter: 43mm ext.
Côtes du Rhône, early 19th century.
Fairly good condition, but surface wear, nice dark patina.
