An antique Neapolitan polychrome wood sculpture depicting Saint Joseph with the Child, dating from the 18th century.

The work portrays Saint Joseph in a moment of intimate and affectionate contemplation, seated and leaning against a rock, while the infant Child stands beside him, clad in a red robe and a draped blue cloak.

The flowing drapery and the chromatic contrasts between ochre and blue are typical of the refined sculptural production of the mature Neapolitan Baroque.
