Dutch Armoire. Seventeenth Century.
This beautiful cabinet opens with two drawers, one under the cornice, the other in the lower casing, and two doors revealing shelving and a sort of cabinet with doors in front of drawers.it rests on three ball feet at the front and two semi-cylindrical ones at the back. Architectonic in design, it is punctuated horizontally not only by cornices and large moldings, but also by alternating cushions separated by half-columns topped with capitals.
Inlaid with rosewood and ebony, the tulips on the door cushions are noteworthy.
Small restorations have kept this beautiful piece of furniture in good condition.
Locks and keys are original.
