Woman's Bust, Henri Allouard (1844 - 1929), Gilded Bronze, France, Early 20th Century.

Artist: Henri Allouard (1844 - 1929)
This gilded bronze sculpture depicts a smiling young woman with a serene expression. Her head is slightly tilted and turned to one side, giving the composition a dynamic, lively look. The woman wears an artistically arranged hairstyle, adorned with a refined lace cap or hat and bow. The details of the sculpture are rendered with great precision.

Gilt bronze, France, early 20th century. Signed "H. Allouard" with the mention "Hors Concours", on the front a plaque "LA FRANÇAISE DE LYON, À SON PAPA KŒNIG 1925".

Dimensions: 55 x 28 x 20 cm.

Henri Émile Allouard (Paris 1844 - Paris 1929), a pupil of Alexandre Schoenewerck and Eugène-Louis Lequesne, exhibited his work at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1865 to 1928. From 1889, he sat on the Salon's sculpture and decorative arts jury. He took part in various world exhibitions, starting with 1889, and won a gold medal in 1900. Known for his combinations of polychrome marble and bronze, he also worked in terracotta, ivory and precious metals. He also created many monumental works, including monuments that today adorn the streets of Paris, Chartres and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
