Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Serving Bowl Birmingham 1904

Antique sterling silver serving bowl was manufactured in Birmingham in 1904 during the Edwardian period. The item features a traditional Art Nouveau aesthetic with an oval form and a scalloped, flared rim. The borders are decorated with intricate foliate and scroll-work cutwork (pierced) designs that encircle the entire upper portion of the bowl. The interior well is finished in plain polished silver and shows no evidence of contemporary or later engraved monograms or family crests. The base is struck with a set of five hallmarks: the Anchor town mark for the Birmingham Assay Office, the Lion Passant for .925 silver purity, the lowercase Roman letter “e” date code for the year 1904, and a factory identifier “F.” A maker's mark is also present.Approximate Dimensions & Weight:Max.
