Oriental Rug Kirman Raver Iran: 190 X 135 Cm - "galerie Sardje"
Kirman Raver carpet, also known as Kerman, from Iran and made in the late XIXᵉ century, circa 1880-1900, under the Kadjar dynasty - This remarkable piece illustrates with refinement all the expertise of the Raver workshops, renowned for the finesse of their weavings and the elegance of their floral compositions.
Hand-woven from high-quality kork wool, shaved short in the Raver tradition, this rug measures 135 cm wide by 190 cm long and features an exceptional density of around 400,000 knots per m², guaranteeing both finesse of design.
The decoration is organized around a sumptuous large central medallion with blossoming floral forms, deploying a delicate network of interlacing, stylized, palmettes, roses and hyacinths.
The motifs stand out elegantly against a luminous ivory field subtly enlivened by shades of rust red, midnight blue, powder pink and celadon touches, creating an ensemble of rare chromatic harmony.
The spandrels and rich main border repeat the elements of the medallion in a perfect decorative balance, characteristic of the great Kirmans of the Raver region. The finesse of the design and the precision of the details bear witness to particularly meticulous workshop work.
This Raver Kirman seduces with the delicacy of its medallion, the richness of its floral decoration and the extraordinary strength of its tonalities. An elegant and refined piece, emblematic of the finest Persian productions of the late XIXᵉ century.
