Antique German 800 Silver Art Nouveau Jardiniere Centerpiece Storck & Sinsheimer
Pair of Antique Art Nouveau centerpiece bowl is made from 800-grade German silver. It bears the official German national hallmarks of a crescent moon and crown, alongside the "800" decimal fineness mark indicating 80% silver content. The maker's mark, a letter "S" within a circular border, identifies the piece as the work of Storck & Sinsheimer of Hanau, Germany, dating between 1874 and 1930. The term "GESCHÜTZT" is also stamped on the base, denoting a legally protected design. The bowls features a boat-shaped, asymmetrical form with integrated openwork handles. The exterior surface is decorated with relief-molded and pierced organic motifs, including sinuous whiplash lines and stylized botanical elements characteristic of the Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) movement. Made with an openwork frame designed to support a liner. The metal displays a natural aged patina with visible tarnish and minor surface wear consistent with an antique object of this age. There are no signs of structural damage or restorative metalwork. Approximate Dimensions & Total Weight: H: 5 x L: 15 x 9 cm 169 grams
