Madonna And Child - Bologna, 18th Century
Bologna, 18th century
Oil on wood
Dimensions: Panel 20 cm, frame 42 cm x H. 52 cm
Excellent condition
A small 18th-century Bolognese sketch, executed spontaneously yet with great effectiveness.
It is a gem of rare beauty and depicts a very sweet image of the Virgin and Child. An old inscription links it to the works of Carlo Cignani (Bologna 1628 – Forlì 1719)
It is painted on a round wooden panel, set in a magnificent contemporary Bolognese frame, richly carved and gilded.
The work as a whole is truly remarkable and makes a striking impression on the wall.
It is in excellent condition (restoration was limited to the restoration of the gilding and minor missing parts of the frame)
We issue a stamped and signed certificate of authenticity guaranteeing the period, provenance, and all characteristics of the work, drawn up by an antique dealer affiliated with FIMA (ITALIAN FEDERATION OF ART DEALERS).
Delivery in Italy and throughout Europe within 3 days of receiving the bank transfer.
Shipping is tracked and insured, and the item is shipped in secure, shock-resistant packaging inside a custom-made wooden crate.
