Jean-Simon Peynaud (1869-1952) was a French glass artist renowned for his decorative creations in etched and enamelled glass during the Art Nouveau and then Art Deco periods. Based in Limoges, he developed a poetic universe inspired by lakeside landscapes, naturalistic scenes and misty atmospheres, using refined techniques of acid etching and enamel painting on multi-layered glass. His works, now sought-after, are part of the great tradition of French artistic glassmaking of the early 20th century.
